About Us

Alison Woods founded Mirror Image Books in 2018. A retired IT executive, Woods always had a passion for two things: telling stories and reading books. She took that passion and her desire to see African American children as the main characters in picture books and created Mirror Image. But the real inspiration for writing her books came from her oldest granddaughter, Kayla. Her annual summer visits and the bedtime storytelling convinced Woods that she had to write! 

She is the author of four books! Two books in the KaylaKay Series: My Name is Kayla and On Sundays We Go to Church. We Are Happy is the first book in the Two Too Terrific Series. And, finally, the first book in the KashEEE Series: My Name Is Kash.
